NAFASI Mpya za Kazi Shirika la Umeme Tanzania TANESCO Leo July 2023, Job Vacancies at TANESCO Tanzania 2023 Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) is undergoing massive reformation of its operations focusing on increasing the outreach and service quality in Tanzania and region as well.
The reformation includes increasing power generation, enhancing business excellence, power reliability and improving customer service. To reach its goals, the Company has in expecting to start operation of Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant recently.
Therefore,self-motivated, honest, hardworking and committed Temporary and Specific Task Employees who are currently working with TANESCO are invited to fill the under-mentioned posts of Artisans at Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant.
Vacant Positions
Artisan Grade Il- Electrical (13 Posts)
Position Details
Reports to:Technician
Supervises: None
Duties and Responsibilities:
(a) Assist in implementing scheduled preventive plant maintenance.
(b) Assist in inspecting electrical system, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
(c) Assist in testing electrical system and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment,and fixtures.
(d) Assist in undertaking diagnosis of malfunctioning system apparatus and components to locate the cause and fix it accordingly.
(e) Ensure Company’s safety rules and regulations are observed all the time.
(f) Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.
Qualifications
(i) Certificate in Secondary Education(CSE)
(ii) NTA Level II or III/Grade Il or I in Electrical
(iii) A minimum working experience of at least one (1) year of proven good performance within the TANESCO.
(iv) Computer skills
(v) Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili
(vi) Creative, innovative and team working.
Artisan Grade II Light Current (1 post)
Position Details
Reports to: Technician
Supervises:None
Duties and Responsibilities:
(a) Assist in preparing Plant’s Light Current maintenance plan.
(b) Assist in performing planned, unplanned, and routine maintenance of the telephone system, DC system and telecommunication system of the plant.
(c) Assist in inspecting telecommunication system, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
(d) Assist in testing telecommunication systems and equipment, and fixtures.
(e) Assist in undertaking diagnosis of malfunctioning communication systems and equipment to locate possible causes of a breakdown and fix the problem.
(f)Ensure Company’s safety rules and regulations are observed all the time.
(g)Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.
Qualifications
(i)Certificate in Secondary Education (CSSE)
(ii)NTA Level II or III/Grade I or II in Telecommunication.
(iii) A minimum working experience of at least one (1) year of proven good performance within the TANESCO.
(iv) Computer skills
(v) Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili
(vi) Creative, innovative and team working.
Artisan Grade II – Mechanical (13 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

(b) Assist in servicing and repairing plant machinery.
(c)Assist in monitoring operations of the machines.
(d) Assist mechanical technicians during undertaking of maintenance activities.
(e)Assist Supervisor in identifying any machine defects on the plant machinery.
(f)Clean all plant equipment, Workshop equipment and Machinery.
(g)Responsible for operating Mobile Machinery and Workshop machinery during routine and maintenance works.
(h)Ensure Company’s safety rules and regulations are observed all the time.
(i)Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
(i)Certificate in Secondary Education (CSSE)
(ii)NTA Level II or III/ Grade I or II in Fitter Turner/Mechanics/Automobile or any other related mechanical certificates.
(iii) A minimum working experience of at least one (1) year of proven good performance within the TANESCO.
(iv) Computer skills.
(v) Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili
(vi) Creative, innovative and team working.
